I have recently found that by doing some keyword analysis on the search engines for dating related information, that Google and other search engines have a hard time deciphering the ‘%’ in their keywords. I will try to explain why this is so.

If you go to Adwords keywords tool, you will notice that when you type in ‘100% free dating sites’ into the box, the displayed results do not reveal anything with those keywords. It’s almost as though the % symbol was not understood and therefore dropped from the related list of keywords results. Instead you will find keywords such as ‘100 free dating sites’, ‘100 percent free dating sites’, ‘100 free online dating sites’ and so forth.

This clearly implies that the % symbol is not recognized. The question is what are you going to make of the keyword that you type into Google or other search engines.
The simple answer the returned results are accurate when you do type those keywords into the search box. So, why not Adwords?
