Abeni suddenly started thinking how he was going to get a chance to use this computer now that everyone had known about its presence.

In his mind he tried concocting ideas on acquiring the key to the room that was going to shelter all this computer stuff, so he could creep in during late at night to use it.

Surely it will be under some heavy lock and key, he thought, considering this was more valuable to the people in the village than all the jewelry wore by Jomoni their village doctor.

Too bad Abeni in his simpleton mind couldn’t see that all he needed to do was ask his science teacher Mr. Odui.

“Now, Abeni if I typed this address directly to the address here, I can bring any site in the world as long as I am connected to the internet”, said Mr Oudi.

“Wow”, said Abeni, “Sir, do you think, it has online dating sites”.

Mr. Oudi, looked puzzled and then retorted, “Abeni, you silly boy, there are many things here that you have never seen.

Think about all the science, knowledge and information available to you, everything is here”, he said leaning back and allowing Abeni to give it a try.

Abeni took hold of the mouse and could see how moving it around on the pad made an arrow key move on the screen.

He then did what his teacher did, take the mouse to the search box of Google and started typing slowly one word at a time.

He hit enter and a list of search results appeared with the first site “Jumpdates.com’ appearing at the top of the page.

“Abeni!”, shouted his teacher, “why do you want to look at such sites….you are too young for this kind of thing” and moved him away while he took back control of the mouse.

Abeni was on a mission and something like this was not going to deter him, he would come back another day to give it a try.

When school had finished for the day, everyone at school was talking about the internet and there were some fantastic stories that were floating about regarding this.

Abeni darted out of his classroom into the direction of the science teacher’s room, he needed to hurry because Mr. Oudi leaves a few minutes early to catch the only bus that takes him to the nearby town of Mukaresh. “Sir, Sir, Mr. Oudi..” said Abeni almost out of breath as he saw him running to the bus. “Where is the computer Sir”.

Mr. Oudi looked at Abeni and then dropped his head, “Abeni, I know the kind of information you want to look at, its not good thing for you”, as he remembered the incident this morning.

“I thought you are a better than that, what is wrong with you!”.

He got on the bus and disappeared into the back of the bus, much to Abeni’s dismay.

Abeni realized that Mr. Oudi wasn’t carrying anything heavy so had a sneaky suspicion that he may have left the computer back in his office or somewhere.

As Abeni darted back to the school campus, he couldn’t help thinking that Mr. Oudi could have taken an important piece of the equipment and he would not be able to power up the computer to do his work.

Abeni suddenly woke up and felt a cold chill running through his body.

He could hear the porter on his evening shift singing a folk song heading in his direction.

Then he remembered he had hidden inside the cupboard after he had seen the computer lying in Mr. Oudi’s office and needed to kill time until it was dark.

It got very hot inside the cupboard and Abeni almost passed out in the heat and only woke up as the evening desert temperatures dropped to levels where you needed to crowd around a fire to keep warm.

He waited for the porter to pass by and knew that he was not going to come around this way again for sometime, giving Abeni the chance to set everything up.
