Abeni turned to the computer equipment that was lying in the corner of the room and tried looking for the computer power button.

He knew there was electricity to the place because this was also another life changing moment for everyone around here since electricity had come finally reached the village not more than 3 months ago.

He then saw the large dish that was still pointing to the sky and wandered how he was going to get everything working even if he did manage to find the power button.

He was about to give up frustrated when his hand hit the mouse button and suddenly by magic, everything started waking up.

“Wow” Abeni thought and a big smile shot across his face.

He quickly got to work and again repeated what he was trying to do earlier this morning.

As Abeni fiddled away on the computer there were gasps of awe and amazement at what he was stumbling across mixed with occasional fits of frustration.

He heard some faint distant noises of people in the background and continued about his work.

Eventually he stumbled on something and felt ecstatic with his new findings and he knew at this point in time, life was going to be very different.

He couldn’t wait.

Luckily Abeni had taken a blanket with him as he was half way to his house, he realized that his mother was going to get very worried and thought about the scolding he was going to receive.

“If only she knew”, he mumbled to himself as he approached his house.

Just in front of the mud-house in the village where he lived were gathered some people who obviously looked anxious and worried.

“There he is!” shouted a voice that could almost be heard in the next village.

A few people rushed towards him as he kept walking to where his mother was sitting.

He had no idea that is absence for a few hours was going to create such a hullabaloo in the village.

His mother looked shocked and then settled into a peaceful reassuring look as he held out her arms to greet him.

The next day Abeni rushed to his school without even having breakfast as he simply couldn’t wait to see Mr. Oudi to tell him the great news.

As he entered into his office, Mr. Oudi listened with intent as Abeni talked. It took a few tries before Mr. Oudi understood the significance of Abeni’s story and then rushed around his desk and patted Abeni on the back.

He then proceeded to make one phone call after another until he eventually got through to someone.

Within a few hours a convoy from Osutin University had driven into the school campus with specialized geological gears, sensors and equipment.

Mr. Oudi greeted them and about a few hours of investigation made an announcement that they had discovered significant deposits of oil below the school grounds. Mr. Oudi smiled at Abeni and said to one of the university members, “this is the boy who used his resources to found through the internet the carbon dating (online dating) of a fossil sample he had found at school”.
