Asking for a date - how to break the ice for men - Part 30

As mentioned, we often get tense and weary of the situation because we have a tendency to put too much thought into the process.
You have heard the adage before, just be yourself and be totally natural.
Being natural means because of your interesting personality and character, you ARE interesting to talk to and this is the way you will come across other people when you chat to them the first time.
‘Pick-up’ lines are defeating to the person if you think of it that way, because what it entails is that you are following a contrived way to get to talk to that individual.
Worst of all, you can feel that if the outcome was not in your favor you dismiss it as such ‘oh it was a pickup line’ and didn’t work.

Please do not think that being a good talker is all it takes to get along in life, in fact these people can have a hard time brushing off criticisms.
Again the question of balance is important to this equation, don’t be too extroverted and dominate the conversation, be just right and have good listening skills.
Again, it is easy to say but what exactly constitutes ‘the right balance’.
A right balance is when you give sufficient time and respect to the other person to have their say and if they feel like talking, you should encouraging them to engage in the conversation and share and open up the discussion. It means being very observant and alert in the environment you are in.
These are important qualities to have in trying to acquire a date as well as into the date.

To get those dates you wanted, you must act because it is unlikely that the women will make the initial move.
Don’t put too much thought into this, it is because we are biologically wired that way.
Even promiscuous women will not make the first move but they will give you all the tell-tale signs that they are interested in you and you will need to make the effort.
No matter how much they will try to mask the idea that they are not into you, you can always read their body language.
I also suggest that you brush up your skills in the area of body language and use it to your advantage.

Body language is not only important to dating but also to other aspects of your life where you can determine if someone is being truthful or not.
It has been said that our communication is 20% verbal and the rest is communication from body, and other intangible forces (sixth sense) that we all possess.
Don’t take anything on face value alone be alert to other possibilities and recourse.
Just to give you an example, if you are not sure whether someone likes you or not just observe as you walk by her and see her reaction, she may twitch, lower her gaze or do something else.
This may signify interest but you will need to find out if this is a genuine interest on her part or not due to her introverted personality or something else.

Let’s say for example that someone likes you, you may feel the urge to find out and if you like that person also, there is absolutely no reason not to ask her out and to get to know each other.
Beyond that you are not interested, it will only cloud your judgment and the more you think about the what-if scenario as I had mentioned earlier, the more uncomfortable you will feel around her.
Think to yourself, like this…seems like an interesting person, I should talk to her more, nothing more or nothing less.
Here you may be faced with another element of surprise and this is the cold shoulder treatment.
Despite what you think about your genuine approach to the whole situation, you may be surprised by the responses especially if you are not prepared for it.
