Joe pictured in his mind that Karen’s father was an exceptionally loving person towards her and her mother was a little bit aloof and cold.

He wandered for a second how these thoughts suddenly popped into his head but he had always believed in the ‘spiritual and unknown’ forces all around us.

In fact he had some theories of his own but he knew it was a subject matter that most people would dismiss in an instant.

His mind went back to Karen and decided to interject, “well it was a 50/50 chance guess of getting it right”, he said while smiling.

Karen smiled back and said “So who are you closer to, then”.

“Actually, I am closer to my mother”, said Joe and continued, “could you tell that about me?”, looking curiously at Karen as he spoke.

Joe thought for a moment how Karen would respond to this, because Joe always liked touching on the subject of character analysis, he found the subject very interesting.

“Not sure, because I am the only sibling in the family, I don’t have a brother to help me compare”.

It was not the question that Joe was expecting but nevertheless it was an intelligent response, the thought.

“Tell me”, Joe started, “what do you think of the website that we just met, are you having any luck with Jumpdates.com”.

“A friend of mine actually referred me to it, so I thought I would give it a try”.

Karen said looking at Joe with some hesitancy.

Joe felt that this could lead to some uncomfortable personal questions about Karen and would prefer not to talk about it.

Joe realized immediately, the fact is that they have both met and now sitting down over dinner and seeing if they had any kind of chemistry or connection is all that mattered.

“You know, I picked up this hobby the other day and its just driving me mad”, said Joe.

Karen looked at Joe beaming with excitement, “What is it, tell me”.

“Wow, that is quite an achievement, so what sparked your interest again?” said Karen.

“Well, I just bought a house recently and it ignited all those passions I had when I first purchased my home many years ago, I guess” said Joe.

“But the funny thing is that, now I am paying way more attention to the details of the furnishings then I did before”.

“You know, how you see all these magazines of interior designs and you just look in amazement at how they manage to make the whole room look pretty spectacular”.

Karen nodded in agreement and Joe realized that this clicked an interest with Karen.

“Well I am not sure if you would be interested, it’s sort of a man thing”, Joe replied trying to maintain Karen’s interest a bit longer. “Would you like to guess”, said Joe.

“Hmm, man hobbies, let me think”, Karen started frowning.

“Fixing cars, photography, collecting, building”, said Karen.

“There are just too many for me to guess, you have to tell me”.

“Okay” said Jim, “I have been doing some wood-working and building some side tables”.

“Really, you must be good with your hands” said Karen with some admiration.

“I was fairly good when I was young, in wood work, metal work, fixing houses and all the do it yourself, I even built an entire kitchen including the plumbing, fixtures and tiling”, Joe said proudly.
