This is one of my most passionate areas for discussion, since the messaging is really crux to the whole communication between you and the other members of the website.

Messaging on this site has almost the same look and feel of other online email messaging that you may use ie. AOL, Gmail and this extends to the other available features such as IM, sending smileys and virtual gifts. Option like “date me” where user can send message to a person that they would like to date. You can also add the person you locate either through search or message into your favorites.

All of the above features cost from $16 to $400 depend upon how much credit point you purchase for yourself.

Other features

Website has many additional services like ‘correspondence’ where they provide services like letter of correspondence and will help you to exchange letters with a matched profile that you take a liking to.

They also provide translation services where they will provide a translator if you do not understand the language of the other person.
They also provide services like delivering flowers and special gifts, perfumes, fruit vases, a teddy bear, a bottle of sparkling wine. It all seems geared towards the ‘Latin’ way of romance and love.

They also organize the “Romance Tour” where a user can register and get to meet and know the best places to find Latin woman and they have been organizing this with success since 2005.

There is a section of top 1000 videos where a user can see videos of enticing woman waiting to meet you and it looks to me to be a publicity stunt.

The Amolatina website lacks a very basic meeting place for users such as a forum or a blog where they can feel more engaged with the other users of the site.

Member Base

Website does not claim to have any specific number of members on their site. After spending a good part of a day on this site it seems that is has majority of female members than males which could make it attractive for the male population. The site is aimed for western gents. looking for women from the latin countries and coupling the latin women to those men.

I tried finding the profiles of different age groups and found that a majority of members are in there 30’s and 40’s with a very few in their 20’s.

Website attains good traffic on yearly basis and in 2010 the website has generated almost 278,000 unique visitor and continues to well in 2011 however there is drop in unique number of unique visitors in Jan2011, which they have to think of why?

Website also has good number of visitors who are repeat visitors to the site. Website enjoys a web ranking of 3,524.

Look and feel of the site is the main selling point of this site along with their messaging feature. The general appearance of the website at first glance has a lot going for it.

Registration to the site takes less than a minute and that is what a user expects these days which is a hassle free registration.

Though the website needs to think more about its photo uploading capabilities since this is a paid site, I was expecting much more.

Browsing and searching options provided are good and accurate to narrow down to specific matches.

Messaging feature of this site as mentioned is very good, but you need to be premium member to get the most out of it.

The website needs to think of providing more user interactive features instead of such features like ‘correspondence’ which is a bit outdated.

Features like the “Romance Tour” could be effective for the person who doesn’t want to tinker with all the efforts of searching for a date by their own.
