We have a familiar saying that prostitution is the oldest form of profession known to man. It is effectively the trade of money/food or other service in return for female sexual favors.

However, this would be incorrect thinking since trading and bartering has been going on long before that. For the survival of a human being, men have learnt to trade at a very early stage. For example if they had meat they could trade it for example say a spear which are better made by certain people of the trade.

How about dating? When did this occur and how did it come about. In the same way that we today, albeit subtle form, men usually compete for women and the more attractive and physically fit the woman, the more competition.

Dating was not commonplace at that time but men won the hearts of women by demonstrating their ability to protect, nurture and provide. So this would mean the accumulation of all the desirable items that the tribe had a need for in those days.
