Dr. Dato’s Brief:
Wow, there are so many of these dating sites popping up that fill a niche market and now we have a dating site that caters to food lovers! You will find some of our other reviews on these niche dating sites in our category Free Dating Site Reviews and Startup Online Dating Site.
Having visited this site, I suspect that its a ‘template’ driven site that is part of a bigger site, but I could be wrong. Watch our sections on the reviews to find out more.
There is nothing wrong about having different templates to a common database engine providing the user interest level fully considered and they are not steered into anything untowardly.
The site is aimed at people with the love of food and/or love of cooking and the site has been geared in the following food areas;
‘Baking’, ‘Grilling’, ‘Exchanging Recipes’, ‘Country Cooking’, or ‘Dessert’. Members can also search for others based on the specific types of food they enjoy, like ‘French’, ‘Italian’, ‘Mexican’, ‘Thai’ or ‘Sushi’. You can also specify if you are vegan or vegetarian.

online dating sites are now catering to food lovers

Dr. Dato’s Brief:
This post is by Dino Grandoni who is senior major at Columbia University studying economics-political science and shares his views in online dating.
Although Mr. Grandoni describes some of his experiences well from other college friends and associates who have tried online dating and failed, he is not looking at the bigger picture of online dating. I agree on his view that when on campus there is plenty of scope to meet like-minded individuals of the opposite sex and the requirements to look for dating outside of the campus is not really necessary.
This fact maybe true of college campus but the outside world is far removed from this and I have seen this happen to me when moving off campus to the company work place for the first time. Without appearing disrespectful to Mr. Grandoni but the working life has many challenges that young students are yet unaware of. For starters, you find you have significant bills to pay, taxes to go through, people you cannot relate to, work issues etc. and this takes a bit getting used to from the previous student life that we are accustomed to.
I would go as far to say that those people are the ones who have found online dating as a medium for connecting with other people. Take for example, the popularity of facebook, from the face of it (no pun intended) the site has droves of people who are coming to it by the numbers. I sometimes wander why they don’t put the same energy into their real social life. I have seen people who I know are perfectly content to ‘open up’ and put all kinds of information that goes on in their minds but when it comes to the real world they keep tight-lipped about it. This is the way online social sites are changing our behavior and no doubt online dating will have a similar look and feel….encouraging everyone to share our deepest thoughts which we wouldn’t necessarily do in public but hopefully someone, somewhere out there will.

facebook popularity could be that it brings out the inner being in ourselves

Dr. Dato’s Brief:
This is a good lesson on how to market yourself from advise by the OkCupid co-founder Yang whose company recently got purchased by Match for a princely sum of $50 million.
The advise is targeted to both online daters as well as people who are interested in online marketing, so the content is organized by specific topics with sub-categories for ‘In online marketing’ for online daters and ‘In marketing’ for web site owners. An interesting approach.
Basically, the gist of the story is that marketing for people who run dating websites are in every way similar to marketing for people who use it. The salient points of this topic includes the following;
3. Emphasize the Aspects You Are Good At
It’s always best to look unique and different from the rest of the crowd
5. Let Your Personality Shine
Make sure that your profile is free from grammatical mistakes, it reflects on the person
7. Study Best Practices
Find out all you can about the practice of dating, it will give you more insights into improvement
8. Invest the Time
This is key, keep doing it and you will only get better, do not give up

online marketing for dating companies are similar to promoting your own profile

Dr. Dato’s Brief:
This post is a press release to a study conducted by Dating-review-uk.co.uk on the usage of online daters with reference to the dating sites that they are mostly drawn to.
The most significant point to come out of this is that a study of women in UK showed that they liked the service of eharmony UK which is a more compatibility type site then men who preferred the match service. The age group of these men and women were between 25-34.
The site Dating-review-uk.co.uk claims to have a Dating Comparison tool for users to point them to the best dating sites that matches their requirements. I did a quick review of their site and found a handful of dating sites which they have reviewed and wouldn’t be surprised if they were affiliated with those sites.

look out for dating review sites who are affiliated with dating companies
