We discussed using a good computer and a browser for the task at hand and they will be your gateway to connect to the internet (the window of the world). I should really define search engines as the window to the world.
The power of the search engines come from having visited every corner of the globe (internet) crawling for information on websites, blogs, news archives to get every snippet of information that maybe useful to their end user. We have all become so accustomed to the search engines today that we take it for granted and it is the most powerful ‘encyclopedia’ to all things useful and valuable to us.
Remember search engines are still fallible, just like when you read about the ‘content farms’ that are usurping much traffic by tricking search engines into having ‘real’ content lifted from other websites. Google’s search engines like other search engines such as Bing and Yahoo are continuously evolving to stay not only competitive in this market but also positioning themselves as indispensable to many of their users. It is no wonder that Google is the number one most recognized brand in other countries such as England and a few other nations.
Next part of the series we will look more under the ‘hood’ of the google search engine.

Like anything else, for example, learning to dance, some of the fundamentals of the dancing are taught first like breaking down the steps. The same applies to using search engines and to maximize your effort in using these tools, you can rely on your intuition but it is so much better if you were armed with a handful of tips and shortcuts which over time will save you lots of time.
If you haven’t done so already, you will need to use some of the latest browsers for conducting your search. I know what you are saying, have been so comfortable using this ancient browser for so many years and you are comfortable with the buttons and where everything is positioned, why bother changing it. Again, this comes down to keeping up with the times, you will not only miss the new features that are available on the web but in fact your efficiency will be reduced.
Noticed, I said ‘efficiency’ and what this means is that you are actually less productive than you could be, if you spent a few hours trying to adapt to the new browser. One example of this would be the ‘tab’ feature which is extremely helpful to have as it opens a few windows within the same browser instead of multiple windows. Other examples include remembering your password etc. It will be time well spent, trust me. The folks at Microsoft, Apple and Google are burning the midnight oil trying to come up with usable products for you and not for them, because that is what keeps them in business.

Article Subject: 4. Use good computers to make your life easier

Now that you have prepared yourself psychology for this venture ahead, bear in mind that there will be challenges on the way and your resilience to this will be a test of your character.
You will need a reasonably good computer and not the ancient ten year old ones with Windows 98, there is nothing worse than having bad tools for the job. You don’t see plumbers, electricians or even medical people holding onto ancient artifacts unless of course it’s really good and does the job.
I am sad to say that in the age of technology, the advances in this field is so rapid that your electronic devices become obsolete in a matter of a few years if not months. Look at the rapidly changing environment of the hand-held such as the smart phones, ipad and more, there never seems to the same model for more than a few months.
I am not implying that you need to stay abreast of all the latest gizmos and get every device you can get your hand on, but you will need to work with something reasonably modern and that is still in use today. For a PC, a Windows XP still does the job and some of the iMac going back several years are also good. Make sure that your PC or iMac are up to date with the latest updates and you have the most recent browser installed on your machines. Previously, we discussed the merits of asking people you already know about their experiences in online dating. Remember, not all online dating experiences are rosy and it can be a very much of a personal taste. The key is to ask enough people so you can get a better idea of where you stand but at the end of the day, you need to clear as to your requirements.
Here, we will talk about asking yourself insightful questions before you embark on the journey to search for your partner through an online dating agency and live the rest of your life in total bliss.
First, ask yourself the following questions:
- ‘How serious am I in finding a soul-mate’
- ‘Will I be able to devote sufficient time to this venture’
- ‘Am I willing to learn and overcome disappointments and keep moving’
As you can see, these three attributes are important to your success on the online dating scene. You need to be serious, spend enough time and not give up easily. In the next part, we will focus on the actual nitty-gritty of using search engines to find the various dating websites that will put you in a strong position to find your soul-mate. It was important to cover this material, because people often don’t give much thought to the whole process and we have all learnt that time and planning can be key factors in the outcome of anything we undertake.

Here in part 2 of the series we talk about the importance of getting good referrals of dating sites through your friends or relatives.
A common mistake most users often make and which some of the major dating companies take full advantage of is that new users are not savvy to the online dating world and so can be gently ‘persuaded’ to sign up.
You have probably at one time or another purchased a product that looks so good from the marketing material but when you actually used it, the thing sucked. The same is true when you shop for online dating sites. Keep in mind the ‘cosmetics’ and ‘marketing’ front that most dating sites will throw at you to sign up to their website.
