Don’t Jump The Dating Scene tread carefully instead
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011
Many jump the dating scene for varied reasons. Some head too fast while others may goof up along the way and end up being left behind. If you can’t remember the last time you had a decent date there is no reason to despair. There are thousands of singles into the online dating scene. While the internet has made it easier to search for a compatible mate, the basics of dating remain the same. Learn the basics and you won’t really need to jump the dating scene. The first thing is to choose the location for your first date after meeting up on a free dating site carefully. Just make sure it is something your wallet can afford and choose a public place to avoid any discomfort. While you are on our date be a good listener as well. Two-way communication is essential if you want to build a healthy dating relationship.

On your first date, make sure you don’t end up emptying the bottle. Too much alcohol is enough to turn off a partner. If possible, avoid alcohol at all unless both are game for a drink or two. Now if you don’t want to jump the dating scene don’t push your luck too far. There is plenty of time for physical expression in a relationship so keep that for later. A simple peck on the cheek will suffice on your first date. Once you have succeeded on your first date it is time to make the second one real special. Be creative and plan ahead. Something more adventurous like an outdoor trip would be a good idea.

How to be aware of online dating scammers - Dr Dato’s Brief
Monday, June 13th, 2011
Whichever dating sites that you sign up with, you will likely come across potential dating scammers, but they all try to operate under the radar. Often women are the most targeted by these dating scammers but if you know a few things beforehand you can avoid the frustration of being scammed by such users.
Usually there are tell-tale signs to spot scammers and they start from the actual dating profile that they put up on line.
Sometimes, these dating profiles will have a nice photo and often little information about themselves but that is not to say that they could be legitimate profiles by genuine users who haven’t had the time to update their profile.
Other signs include a message that doesn’t appear to be ‘personalized’. This means that the user has pretty much copied and pasted the same message to the members they want to target. Remember, they need to get through as many as possible in order for them to have success, because often most members will be astute to their game and they just need that one vulnerable single person who is craving for that relationship.
The subject of online dating scam has hit the headlines of big news and due to its importance, I will cover more on this topic in the future.

What is sense of humor when it comes to dating - Dr Dato’s Brief
Sunday, June 12th, 2011
We all understand that sense of humor can be an admirable quality that both men and women find appealing and especially women when they are dating men. Many of these women will put ’sense of humor’ as a foremost quality they are looking for in their ideal partner.
So, what is sense of humor and can the skill be acquired?
I believe this quality comes from without want of trying ie. you either have it or you don’t have it. However, it is a personal trait that can be developed by observing odd situations in a comical way and how we see the world and events happening around us. You don’t have to be very witty and alert to have this quality, in fact, if you over do it, it can work against you and you may ignore the actual people in the conversation making you appear a bit selfish and attention seeking.
When it comes to dating, the quality is much better embraced because the attention is directed to one person only. For women who seeks this quality in their dating partner, make sure that it is taken along with all the other qualities that makes up the entire person.
To have a good sense of humor, one must perceive some but not all events in some comical fashion ie. turn the situation into an amusing story. For example, the other day, I was with a group of friends at a house party and a couple had a very cute baby that was crawling on the floor and came to a group of people that was sitting. I had my camera and the baby gave me a good look at me and almost froze, and as I had my camera, I started taking snaps of him. We all noticed how he was almost ‘posing’ for the shots and I immediately said ‘ok, I have taken enough pictures of you’ and everyone burst out laughing.

Common traits to be aware of when dating men from abroad - Dr Dato’s Brief
Friday, June 10th, 2011
Women from the west generally find International men to be attractive and sometimes alluring. It’s possible that when women have seen or compared the general traits of local men the thought of some men coming from very different cultures and backgrounds with a far different mindset can appear exciting.
It would be incorrect to assume that the general traits of International men are superior to the western men but there are common traits to be found amongst men from abroad.
We have all stereotyped men from different continents such as British men having a solid quiet conservative manner with the Latino men as being more racy and more into the matters of the heart. These are generalizations and of course everyone’s personality is influenced the type of family background they have come from and most of all the core values they uphold when it comes to women.
In particular what I found from the core values held by men that come from the continents of Asia such as India is that family unity is a big issue for many of them. Aligning to these traditional values includes some pre-determined understanding of the roles that couples play in a relationship or marriage. The male is considered a provider where he works and provides shelter for the woman and his children. The woman is considered to provide for the family in terms of domestic affairs. However, with the changing economic growth of India both men and women are finding themselves competing for the same job and hence the old tradition of male and female roles no longer applies. This transition naturally can have a negative effect on relationships if the ‘old traditional’ thoughts cannot be disbanded to accommodate the changes of the modern men and women of today.

Celebrity endorsements of dating sites - Dr Dato’s Brief
Friday, June 10th, 2011
I read with interest on fascinating news pieces regarding celebrity endorsements of some dating sites.
The most recent one was Charlie Sheen who was offered a three year $3 million contract with a Canadian dating site called Establishedmen. The contract required Sheen to move from Los Angeles to Toronto and I got thinking that most of Sheen’s notoriety is a result of his presence here in the US and if he were to make the move to Toronto he would fade out of existence and not to mention the mult-million dollar contract he has for his highly popular show 2 and a half men.
Something was a miss here and I had my doubts that this was a simple publicity stunt for the dating site to get some visibility.
My suspicions were confirmed when I read another article on AshleyMadison (dating site for married people) offered a similar endorsement to Tiger Woods. I doubt Tiger Woods was so strapped for money for him to do that stint but the connection between AshleyMadison and Tiger Woods was well matched.
Hmm…. maybe I can approach Ashton Kutcher for a stint with Jumpdates, you never know.
