What’s Your Choice…Speed Dating Show or Online Dating?
Friday, April 6th, 2012
“Take me out” this is latest speed dating show by Perez Hilton going on air as 30 girls battling out over one man to go on date. It will have a feel of a game where men need to impress the ladies and in turn they put on the charms if they find him sexy.
In every episode they will create one date and as many as 30 ladies will join in and try their luck. This would be interesting to watch but we need to wait to find out how singles can get in to that show. But, being a speed dating show, don’t you feel it is slow in nature. There is nothing wrong in having a stab at this kind of dating, but online dating looks to be a better idea.
We all know how online dating has been helping millions of singles to find their dating partner and creating relationships. Major online dating sites do not take more than 2 minutes to join and find countless numbers of males and females to choose dates with. Some of the dating websites especially Jumpdates.com offers a Facebook plugin to register in a matter of seconds. The question is when we have these quick means to find a date then do we need speed dating shows. This show naturally has created a buzz because of it’s big name and a famous celebrity hosting the show.
Comment on your views and join the discussion of this new speed dating show hosted by Perez Hilton.

The sensitive subject of sex when it comes to online dating?
Thursday, April 5th, 2012
We know that the online dating industry has provided an easy platform for many singles to meet other like-minded singles. In actual fact when the online dating industry was working its way into the main stream over a decade ago there was another active and busy online singles industry in the form of adult dating. This adult online dating business was taking a firm footing in the industry and collecting millions for many companies providing this service. It was only a matter of time when many of the online dating companies including many free dating sites also ventured into this market with their own helpings such as the adult matchdoctor and adult friendfinder network.
However, today we don’t seem to be seeing much of these websites as we did before. Perhaps its due to regulations or lack of interest from many singles or maybe these kind of activities have slowly shifted and thinly veiled into the popular mainstream dating sites of today. Whatever the reasons, there is no question that the popularity of the internet and ease of accessibility makes meeting people significantly quicker and easier than ever before. None more so with new devices capable of accessing the internet on the fly with simple gestures of your fingers namely, the smart phones, tablets etc.
Is it possible that the online dating industry is creating new behavioral patterns when it comes to peoples opinions on meeting other people with a view to having sex. Jumpdates.com recently conducted a study on this very issue in collaboration with the department of Nursing, University of British Columbia. It was found that sexual behavior had indeed changed with the advent of online dating, although conclusive studies as yet to be done to pinpoint essential factors.
If sexual activity has increased and with more partners than before as a result of the online dating sites than this could pose potential problems with regards to health and safety. In addition to the psychological impact of people’s behavior to sex the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STI), sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and venereal diseases (VD) can pose significant problems to the nation as did the epidemic of AIDS. Perhaps it would be a good a time as any to bring more awareness to the general public on this topic and especially singles who are now actively dating than ever before.

Want to Breakup Whom You Met on Internet Dating Sites
Thursday, April 5th, 2012
Breaking up with someone you met on the internet dating sites and dating for some time would be difficult, especially when that person has an emotional attachment and you do not share the same feeling anymore. It could be very painful to wear the fake mask of love and affection.
Here Jumpdates can give you best breakup advice so that parting will be less painful
1. Listen to your inner voice as why you want to breakup with someone who loves you lot. You may be feeling low in the relationship that could be just temporary and if not you must have some good reasons for the break-up. Ask yourself if something or somethings have not been communicated well between each other.
2. Now when you have decided that it’s not going to work and you have a strong reason to back up your decision ensure that you are able to communicate this effectively to your dating partner.
3. Right time and correct place are very important here, you cannot send an email, text message or give a phone call to say that you want to breakup. You can ask your partner to meet casually at a place where both of you feel comfortable and don’t have to talk over each other and can comfortably listen to what each partner has to say.
4. When you feel that all is going well and your partner is also comfortable and need time to think, don’t say no. Give you partner ample time to react.

We understand that not all relationships are made in heaven and sometimes its best to just let go. Occasionally when the relationship is just not working out and doesn’t have a future it’s better to end it on a sweet note rather than through a painful turmoil.

Perception of Beauty or Looks in Online Dating Sites
Wednesday, April 4th, 2012
Most of the dating sites today have a selection where you can assign a grading with regards to your looks or beauty. This can be a tricky choice for many and in particular for females since the choice you make can determine your entire personality. For example, whether you come across as arrogant, boastful or just modest.
Take the case of Samantha Brick an UK columnist who today created a backlash amongst the public when she declared that she could not help herself for being beautiful. It is one thing to know that you are beautiful but another to openly declare this to everyone. What is surprising is that she did not anticipate the hate emails for her post and she goes on to say that this just goes to prove her point. Unfortunately she has failed to realize that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. This means that the trued judges of your beauty are the people who see you and not yourself. Maybe she should go and see the new Snow White movie.
The repercussions of her article in certain ways reflect people’s opinion on this subject and almost resembles other sensitive subjects such as racism and discrimination. It is like a personal opinion that you keep to yourself in case of offending others.
How can we learn from this and apply to our online dating profile. To be shrewd in this matter and despite the fact that dating sites do allow you to specify a grading regarding your looks, it is better to be modest. Even if many of your friends and relatives think of you as stunning looking, you should opt for something like ‘good looking’ if there is another choice for ‘very good looking’. Let’s assume that a woman selected the ‘very good looking’ option, now the point is that men who come to look at their profile may consider this woman to be very good looking indeed but then they can also assume this person to be too presumptuous. There is a tendency for others to be more attracted to someone else when they are modest about themselves. There is nothing more sexy than a beautiful woman who glows with a warmth and a radiant smile and effectively looking outside of herself.
For the case of men when it comes to grading their looks on their dating profile, the situation is starkly different. If a man was to put down ‘very good looking’ on their dating profile, it is somewhat of less importance than a woman because it is understood that men are permitted to have some room for showing off and having an air of arrogance. In fact, it would be more amusing to many women rather than a hotly contested topic.
I would be curious to know what would happen if a man were to put up a blog saying that he was very good looking. I am pretty certain that this person would not receive the same level of interest as Samantha Black did today.

Nothing has really has changed in the way we date but the possibilities have increased by many folds
Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012
Maureen is getting ready for her date and she is unsure what to wear for that evening. She decides to scrummage through her wardrobe and find the perfect outfit that will hopefully radiate with her dating partner. As she speeds her way upstairs, she receives an instant message on her latest Android cellphone. The message is from Bill and she sighs with relief as she reads on. Bill is going to be about half an hour late to their rendezvous point at Starbucks coffee…well at least he hasn’t canceled as she was so fondly looking forwards to this day.
As Maureen tries out every dress in her closet, she starts panicking since nothing seems to be working for her and time is passing by. What would he like, is this too short or too long and she kicked herself for not asking those questions during the umpteen times they had chatted on the free dating site Jumpdates.com. She finally settles for a black dress which showed off her curvaceous figure but still retaining a sense of modesty. Maureen scrambles for the keys and heads to her car as she dabs some fragrance around her neck area while multitasking with the contents of her handbag. She can’t blunder this one up, she said to herself as flashes of pictures goes through her head of her previous encounter with the French guy.
There is something to be said about dating online and the methods of finding and dating hasn’t really changed that much at all. What has happened is that our choices for locating partners through online dating sites have multiplied by many folds. Granted that there is more screening to do at the initial stage but surely it’s better than say having a choice of three guys that you meet at the bar.
