The post talks about the online dating scene in Denmark where it has been estimated that one in four couples now routinely find each other on the internet, reported by MetroXpress newspaper. Probably the ‘cold climate’ maybe :-), only kidding, although it would be worth examining the statistics and say other countries like Iceland. The advantage of online dating is that you can pre-screen all your dates before you commit to a date, so the time and effort in dressing, looking good and going to bars can be saved?
Anyways, the facts from this post suggests that the stigma associated with online dating is disappearing altogether, so says Morten Wagner founder of dating.dk who started his dating site in 1998.
University of Copenhagen researcher Charlie Breindahl says that you get to discuss the heavier issues related to dating before taking it further. Also, the real physical attraction, however, doesn’t occur until you meet in person, said Breindahl.

Login to this site is flexible; I mean to say that user can login by their email address or userid generated by the website along with their password.
As far as customizing is concerned, the user can change details of his profile like personality, habits, lifestyle, the kind of match wanted along with the option for changing password.
As a user you cannot set any rule for their own privacy to prevent certain people to see on not to see your profile is a missing component of the site. If I am paying for a service such as this, I would like to be in control of that feature.

Uploading photo features of this site is minimalistic and user can only upload a maximum of 4 photos to this site.

Browsing is very simple with this site since all the options are placed neatly at the top.
Searching is categorized into two parts, a basic and an advance search and they both provide an accurate search result based on your search criteria. Using the basic search a user can search by age, country, weight, height, number of children, habits but one big omission is that you cannot search by location ie. city.
With the advanced search, a user can make the search more granular with additional information such as color of eyes, drinking habits, religion, zodiac signs and you do have the city search in this search option.
User can also search by userid of the profile, which is not that user friendly since very people will remember userids in any case.

Most of the online dating sites will usually have a forum and a blog where you can write your own posts and comments respectively. Other dating sites may also have an array of interactive features where you can create quizzes, polls, conduct surveys, play games and more.
The trick for maintaining good etiquette on these parts of the dating site is to understand that your post or comment is being read by many other members of the site. The communication aspect of these features are very different to using say the messaging section where the communication is one to one.
Usually the forum will have a main post where a ‘thread’ of discussion emanates from the topic related to the post. To make an effective contribution to the forum board, requires you to read what has already been written and then write something useful so that the flow of conversation keeps going. Don’t offend other people or ridicule them, be courteous to any responses made on your thread and comments.
One thing to keep in mind about forums and blogs that are tied to the dating site, is that your profile reflects the contributions you have made to the forum or blog. So it is in your interest to make sure that your remarks are good and proper as it reflects in the overall quality of your profile in the eyes of other members.
