The site also seems to ask some unnecessary stuff like if your parents are married, divorced or single mother and about the siblings and what your number is amongst them. I personally feel that this information is redundant and is not required for a dating site.

Login & Customizing Profiles

For logging into the site, you need the username and password just like all the other dating sites. As mentioned, you have to complete your registration by giving a lot of information about yourself and your ideal partner.

Following this step, you can upload your profile picture.

At the top of the page you can see the users menu with the inbox, search, my matches, viewed me; meet me, my profile, my photos and my account.

Customization is straightforward as you have full control to manage your account and edit your profile.

Photo Profile Section

You can upload up to 12 photos directly from your computer and there is a guideline for uploading pictures but I wasn’t able to open the page at that time. I am assuming it contains the normal guidelines given by all the other dating sites. You are not permitted to upload celebrity pictures and children’s photographs and make sure that your photographs are clear and the images are of yourself only.

Browse & Search Feature

Browsing and searching is one of the great features of this site and you can browse any section of the entire evow.com website.

In the search results, the site displays the match’s photographs and you can see who has viewed your profile in ‘viewed me’ section.

If you wish to meet someone or if someone wants to meet you it can be seen in the ‘meet me’ section of the website.

Account settings can be changed like username and password through the ‘my account’ section.

You can make your account active or hidden and in the active mode you will be visible to all users while in the hidden mode you will be invisible to all users except the people whom you have had previous contacts with.

You can also block the members who annoy you or do not wish to make any contact with.

Searching for the match is also very easy as you can search for member by four different search criteria.

The first one is the basic search where you need to give only age group, constituent state and zip code.

In the advanced search you need to be a subscribed member and you can search by newest users and also local users.

All the search results can be seen with their age and location and also with some brief description of them.

The browsing and searching features are easy to use and most are free except the advanced search and the ‘meet me’ section.

Messaging

Messaging is well designed and easy to use but you need the subscription for sending messages to other members.

You can see your inbox and sent mail for free but that’s all you can do.

There is an IM feature of this site and winks can be sent for free and marked into your favorites. You can also chat with other members however, gifts, hugs, slap, kisses etc facility is not there and one needs to think about incorporating such features especially as it is a subscription dating site.

I have conducted numerous searches and found a lot of members that suit my style, profile and interests.

There are members from all age groups but most of them tend to be in the group of 20’s to 40’s. The website is designed exclusively for U.K, U.S, Australia, Ireland and Canada audience.

Though it cannot be decided in a single visit but from the searches I did, I can expect a good response rate from other members. Time will tell the longevity of this site and you will need to revisit this section for further updates in this area.

As mentioned earlier, the site has a healthy member base as it can be seen in the total visits for this site. There are 2,758,789 total visits in past 6 month, out of which 456,810 are unique visitors. This site was just launched in Sep 2010 and since then it has gained popularity. The site also enjoys web ranking 209,522.

Conclusion

Having reviewed many dating websites including free as well as paid dating sites, I found this site to be well designed for a limited audience. It is a paid dating site but most of the features that can be used are free but at the end of the day its about the communication between you and another member.

The look and feel of the site is not that attractive to look at but it does try to serve a purpose.
