If you go to Allegros on Sunday nights you will meet a huge crowd of dancers gathered around a big dance floor. This is a perfect opportunity to meet many singletons who are looking for the same things as you are. Go ahead and invite someone you like after a dance for a cup of coffee.
In addition to the restaurants and venues mentioned above, there is a hidden gem which US folks can really make the most of. This is the website called meetup.com. I encourage all of you singletons to join this site and look up venues close to your home. There are all types of clubs and events happening grouped into many different interests. For example, if you are in photography, there will be a group host who will organize events in that specific area of interest. The website allows group organizers to set up their club or activity and any person is free to join. For a touch of class visit this established French restaurant in nearby Livermore. The settings are considered gorgeous and the food sumptuous. Although a pretty penny on your pocket, if your date is worth it then this venue is sure to impress. Go during a nice summer day or a warm evening.
Although Pleasanton may not boast all the amenities or activities for an up and coming single person, the place is close to many other nearby towns and cities. With a short drive of 30 minutes or so, you will end up in Berkeley, Oakland and even San Francisco where you can enjoy all the sights, sounds and culinary experiences that you can ever wish for. Being an avid salsa dancer myself, I occasionally visit Down Low Lounge in Berkeley where they have some of the best musical bands playing there. Price can’t be beat, for $10 you get classes and a great band to boot. There is something about dancing to a band rather than just DJ music the music is very addictive.

There are some good eateries in Pleasanton and this has probably come about due to the many businesses that are located here. However, you will find many places are adjacent to Pleasanton in the Dublin area next to the 580 highway. In addition to the top branded hotels, there are many different types of cuisines for people to go and enjoy a fast or a slow meal. In dates, you are likely to end up going to a venue that has the correct ambience and setting where you both feel comfortable and not rushed. Depending on your tastes, you may try the following restaurant venues.

This place is clean and cheerful. Although the ambience would not be classed as five stars, nevertheless the cuisine and value for money makes this place worthwhile. I would recommend to try some of their fish dishes such as the shrimp with vegetables. The food is always fresh and tastes good too which won’t disappoint.

The town of Pleasanton boasts the new West Dublin/Pleasanton Bart station close to the famous Stoneridge Mall. It is in close proximity to Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco where a drive along the 580 highway or the Bart will get you to those places in less than 40 minutes or so. Although the town is well positioned for professional workers and has a thriving community, it lacks in facilities for many singles here. One has to look hard to find activities for singles that will allow them to mingle and meet.
One such place is Shaboom (http://www.shboomnightclub.com/) which is a nightclub with dance, food and entertainment going on most days in the week including weekends. If you are into salsa dancing, visit this venue on Wednesday nights where you will be provided with good entertainment at a great value. For $12 you will be provided with a buffet meal and then followed by two salsa classes for beginner and intermediate dancers and then free dancing till midnight. Evening starts around 7pm, where you should get your buffet meal and follow this up with the salsa classes. People are a friendly bunch here and come in all age groups and you will see some regulars come to this event every Wednesday. If you are a fairly competent salsa dancer but you like to mix with a friendly crowd, then this place will work for you. If you are into Pop or Hip-Hop music, go during the other nights such as Fridays and Saturdays. On those nights you are likely to find more single people since salsa nights seem to draw a different crowd of people. The bar has an extensive supply of drinks to everyone’s taste, so make sure to take a friend with you who doesn’t drink, if you are planning to take the car.

Think of Boeing 787 as yourself and the Airbus as one of your rival. Now Airbus has come very strong from it’s early days and now giving Boeing a run for its money. In particular, the Airbus A380 which has the potential to carry over 800 passengers has forced you (Boeing) to come up with something better. This came in the shape of the Dreamliner project which was starkly different to what Airbus offered and was designed to be smaller and one of the most advanced aircraft carrier in the world. As you embarked on this project, you have had to overcome the huge negative responses from the public about it’s delays etc. Finally, you decided to take the plunge and take some short-cuts in the process and launch the Dreamliner a bit prematurely. As a result, you have a new set of problems to deal with, all the small problems that have led to the entire stock of the Dremliners to be grounded until further notice. A huge hit on your credibility and the ability to do business.
The story is very typical of someone’s personality and many would say that businesses are built on sharp people but at the end of the day, it is humans who make the decisions and push the buttons. If you are not careful and you push the wrong button too early, you may have to deal with a situation that you won’t be able to cope with despite the pressure to achieve. It takes great courage and integrity to make good decisions when it comes to a relationship. A lesson learnt is don’t try to over please too early in order to have some calm in the waters, a strong individual will see what lies ahead and is able to make the most effective decisions for the future too.
