Messaging

This is one the weakest part of the site, where almost all other dating sites offer IM chat, email, sending gestures, rating profile and photos, adding comments and more.

However, Freedating247 only allows you to send mail to your matched profile. You are not able to tell whether the person is online, or active. It makes me wonder if there is any benefit to the email system at all which is the primary way of communicating with other members.

What’s Missing

Freedating247.com dating site lacks many features including the basic features like good search functionality and even the nice look and feel expected of good dating sites. A good messaging section is essential to any dating site and which I felt really lacking in this website and something that needs to be taken care of as a first measure.

In the modern age of video, audio, this website does not allow you to save any video.

Browse & Search Feature

As I peruse through this site I am aware of it’s basic look and feel as well as the basic features and options that are available on the site. These limitations are a bit disconcerting to the user, especially when you compare it with other free dating sites.

Browsing through site is quick and easy. I did notice that overall performance of the website was on the slow end, probably hosted on a shared server. This is more obvious clearly while uploading photos or browsing through different menus which is a test of server performance.

Basic search function is not impressive and I feel that there are a lot of issues that need to be taken care of.

1. It is gives you an option to search up to the age limit of 120, hmm.. I thought most people give up dating by 80.
2. You can only search persons up to 100 miles away and no more than that.

With their advanced search I was expecting that I could find some more distance feature to choose from, but I couldn’t find anything. The advanced search is also not that useful or impressive.

As soon as you login for the first time, you finish the profile update to get the best match for yourself from their database of members. While creating/editing your profile you need to answer questions about yourself, what you like, why you are on this site and other common questions associated with dating sites.

Photo Profile Section

Uploading photos are similar to other dating sites with nothing extraordinary in terms of features available for this application.
In my previous review of okcupid.com, I mentioned that uploading from orkut/facebook was a very useful feature . Other dating sites should make note of this feature which I believe is quite useful to members and saves them time.
Photos uploaded quickly and visible against my profile. Again nudity is not accepted on this site and you may do this at your own peril.

Registration Process

I appreciated the quick and easy registration process of freedating247 since all of my previously reviewed sites were claiming fast registration process, however, freedating247 was indeed very quick and true to their word. As soon user registers to this site, you get a confirmation email saying you are registered (with login ID and password) which you can change after you login in. Once you have logged in, the home page was nothing to shout about.

Logging & Customizing Profiles

Once you have logged in to your account you will find options like edit profile, edit photo, edit account setting and mail preferences.
If you are looking to customizing the profile and try to give it a new look then you are out of luck. This feature is not available so all you twitter/orkut/facebook fans will be a bit disappointed.
