These are social skills that have been acquired over time and some people are better than others in this ability.
Personality and character of the individual will have a bearing on the kind of social interaction that people are comfortable in.
Keep in mind that if you are not able to interact well with one individual it does not mean that this person is like this with everyone.
Everyone has their own way of interacting and the connection will be based on each other’s differences and indifferences in personality and character.

To be a good flirter there should be no reservations on the part of the flirter and the person needs to have good self-confidence.
He/she must be happy doing it and be prepared for some initial failures at first.
The confident and outgoing ability that emanates from the flirter is what attracts other people. People are more willing to talk you because of these qualities.

- Take initiative, be confident and proactive
- Need to be always alert in reading accurate signals from the other person
- Need to be adapt in reading body language
- Be brash (but not overly so)
- Get rid of any baggage in your discussion and sound positive
- Feel yourself in control
- Enjoy doing it

Today with we live in a high-tech environment where the need for interaction with other people face to face is slowly being eroded with electronics gizmos such as the smart phones, emails, texting and instant messenger. These devices are having a profound effect on the way we communicate with other fellow beings. Who is to say that this may insulate us even further into our own world where human interaction which is the key to our well being may be diminished with serious consequences.

We are now so heavily reliant on emails and texting that we have what is called ‘emoticons’ to convey our thoughts and feelings to the recipient.

The evolution of mankind has been to use body language, speech, gestures, flirtation as way of communicating to other fellow human beings.
It can be argued that the introduction of technological communication may prevent us from making viably happy and sustained lifestyles by replacing the need for human interaction at some level.
We may even find ourselves shutting out many people in our lives since not only do we wish to communicate less more openly but we also have one of the biggest information resources available to us, the world wide web.
The long-term consequence of this paradigm shift in communication amongst humans is not fully understood.
