“Not sure’, was your quickly reply, because you weren’t prepared for this line of questions.
“You should call her, I don’t mind at all”, as he spoke with an equal worry and tension in his voice.
Oh shoots you thought, you might have blown your chance altogether of making your escape.
On second thoughts, you conjure up another plan of action… call and pretend to talk to her and tell him that she desperately needs you to be with her and that you needed to leave. Very simple you thought, so you say “Sure, will be back in a moment”.

As you get up, you can’t help feeling a bit nauseous by the whole thing and you ask yourself ‘what has come over you’.
Usually you are so articulated and witty and you can have anyone around your little thumb. “What’s going on”, you thought.
As you leave the table, your date smiles with you notice a twinkle in his blue eyes and again, you feel a bit light-headed.
You step into the restroom and go straight into one of the booths and just sit there for a whole few minutes trying hard not to think.
When you come back to the restaurant you are feeling somewhat happier, you sit down and look at him and say “She is totally fine, she has her mom with her”.
The morale of the story is that you should never have too many expectations of someone you meet the first time, give yourself a chance to grow a little.

1. The venue:
Most salsa events can happen in any types of establishment, usually it can be a hall that is rented out by the salsa instructor by the hour.
These halls can be rented in schools, government building, private offices etc.
However, having a good floor is important for this type of venue since dancing can be strenuous on the legs.
For women, these places are usually the most attractive, because there is usually no alcohol served in these premises and does not attract the rough and boisterous men who sometimes get attracted to these places.
However, you can occasionally find a good restaurant/bar that also has a great dance floor and attract the right clientele.
This is where it is important to have a good bouncer at the door that can pick out trouble-makers and keep the place safe.
Women should also turn to friends or anyone they know who are avid salsa dancers and ask for the best venues to go to.

2. The classes:
If your sole purpose is to just find women through dancing, it will probably not work for you.
There has to be genuine interest in the dance for you to attract any women of interest.
Women are usually quick to judge guys on their intention and if they don’t see something they like, they will be quick to dismiss you.
Your best bet is to learn the dance and become somewhat proficient at it and then decide to go for some of the women that interests you. In this way, you have established a presence at the place where most women will find some comfort in the familiarity of the place as well as faces.
For women, it is important that you also take time in being comfortable in the class, with the teachers and other people around you.
Try to make friends with people in the establishment before you single anyone out.
