There are perhaps umpteen reasons why one would choose a paid dating site over let’s say a free dating site. If you strongly believe in the adage that ‘You get what you pay for’ then you probably would go for the former of signing up to a paid dating site. However, for many online singles, they too have found their love online from many of the free dating sites available in the USA.
Like all big companies, the marketing department can dip their hands into the cash coffers and present the world at large with fancy adverts and bold claims to make you radiant, rich and happy etc. So what exactly are you missing out in the world of internet dating?
Firstly, free dating sites that majority of online singles visit are only skin deep… there are a lot more going on behind the scenes. Equally, I could be viewed as foolhardy for not charging the users and losing potential income that can be derived from this lucrative model. They do have a business model that is working for them and much of that has to do with advertising.
The ingredients for success to free dating sites are simple, obtain as much traffic as you can to the website and this will translate to many impressions of ‘ads’ on your site resulting in sufficient revenue to keep the business going. This can be very challenging for newcomers into the world of free dating sites business, but for a handful of few mentioned above, the model does work.

The online dating industry is a sixteen year old industry with Match.com being the first one to taste success in 1995, but since then the industry has been in constant flux and growth. During the recession of 2007, there were plenty of new comers in the free dating sites sector of the USA market. With an ever changing technology the dating industry has reinvented itself significantly with changes in simple web dating sites to mobile dating sites and then to movie dating apps. The smartphone sector for dating websites has shown good promise in the last couple of years and is still continuing to grow at a rapid rate.

The growth of free dating sites in the USA has been truly remarkable, but it’s already becoming a crowded market and dating sites are looking for ways to distinguish themselves from each other and still tap into this growing market. We have already witnessed the demise of MySpace which made way for Facebook. By not adopting to the changes of social behavior of internet users, companies will fall as quickly as they grew.

Have you ever come across such a marketing ad from dating sites where they claimed online singles were dead? Not sure, well no one can think of this by any stretch or imagination. But wait, this has happened and guesses who’s involved, it’s those sites that claimed to be the scam free dating sites.

This news reel came from the online dating industry that is worth $2bn worldwide as Google dating alerts were crowded by headlines of dating sites that stole pictures of dead soldiers and using them in their advertising promotions. The guilty True.com have been spotted doing this, as the matter came out PlentyofFIsh.com aka pof.com another scam free online dating site stopped running ads for True.com
Family members of lieutenant Peter Burks (whose photo was used in the ad. promotion) are thinking to sue both “pof” and “True” for this insidious act. Online dating is highly competitive industry these days and to gain every bit of extra mileage, dating sites are using different channels to attract online singles. It would be hard to say what really happened as it could be intentional or just a marketing stunt that turned out be a goof up. However it gives every reason for online singles to join scam free dating sites such as Jumpdates.
