Previously we described how a ’snippet’ that shows up in a Google page is helpful to understanding what the website is about before just randomly clicking away on the first set of results.

Since the aim of this series is to get you trained in locating ‘free dating sites’ and good ones at that, we have other websites that can actually take out the drudgery of locating good dating sites for you. However, a word of caution on these review sites. If you read by post A word about dating review sites, you will know that some sites have been setup with no intention of providing an unbiased view of dating sites and they are merely pushing their ‘affiliated dating sites’ in order to make money.

Good review sites should be honest and unbiased towards any affiliation with other websites and give a straightforward view of the dating site for the end user. You will find the reviews of many dating sites that we have done in this blog are exactly that.

    Have you had many complaints of scammers on this site. I have been geeting emails form guys that seem to all have the same background where their parenst have died tragically and their wife died and maybe event their children. They say they are form another country originally but now live in the states. They write in broken English and do not spell well. They say their a certain height and hari color on the site, but when you start asking them questions about themselves they give you different answers from what is ont he site or what they look like.

    Just curious if any other women ahve ocmplained.

    On looks can be decieving: i believe looks are important for first impressions. But are mostly decieving. I agree with the attraction of personality by the mature individual.     I was reading your blog, and I had to write about my experiences in trying to meet and date tall girls, so as to offer a shorter male’s point of view.
    When I was 24, I met a divorced woman, 32 who was 5’11”. I am 5’8”. It was a brief affair, but I just could not get over her long legs and curvy broad hips. She was wearing a white 2 piece bikini. I looked up through her long tanned legs to those broad hips, and my memories came back. In the few times we talked, she never expressed any interest in me, so that was that.
    One Saturday, during the summer while at another pool in the same complex, I was chill’en with 2 or 3 other guys, when another man I knew walked up to us and mentioned that he had proposed to Heidi. She had turned him down, and he wanted anyone in the group who knew her, to put a good word in with her for him. To say the least, we were all stunned that a guy would say this to a group of acquaintances. A few months later, while at my pool, I overheard two girls talking about Heidi turning down two other men. I do not know if these girls were talking out of envy or were mocking the two men, but this showed that Heidi was getting the attention of men. (Fast forward 12 years, one child and one divorce later.) A friend of mine wanted me to join a singles dating organization. I said before I join, I want to see what some of the girls in the organization looked like. He obtained about 20 biographies with photos of the women. It must have been photo 8 or 9, but there was Heidi. Her name appeared on the top of the page, with her photo below and two paragraphs about her life. I remember this one phrase, 34 years old, never married, no children.
    I thought, how could this be? If she were not the most desirable girl in a social gathering, she certainly was one of the more desirable girls. Three men offered to marry her, and there must have been more. This made me wonder how many other women had squandered their youth and fertility because unrealistic qualification required of the man, height, body etc.
    I am now married, with sons 11, 7 and 3 along with a son 22 from my first marriage. I am a good father and husband. I give my boys attention and time. They have electric motorcycles, pedal carts, bikes and all sorts of video games. I have traveled to 22 counties and 20-30 states across the US. I have 3 degrees, and I have co-authored a US patent. I have made over 6 figures for 10 plus years. I wanted a taller girl because of the physical turn on and to for fill one of my desires, yet not one single tall girl (20’s) gave me a chance. I was turned down consistently and without a second thought.
    So, if you find yourself in your late 20’s or early 30’s with no prospect of a husband or children in the immediate future, you have no one to blame but yourself, just as Heidi discovered. There were men like me, who wanted a leggy female, but they, like me, were never accorded the opportunity. So my advice would be to accept the advances of men and get to know them. Throw away the yardstick, for you may find someone like me, who would love to share his life and love with a tall girl.

    I’m not new to the online dating technique (2 yrs). And I find Ms. Knight piece well written and thought out. I have found everyone can sound good for a day or two….but asking these certain questions help cut thru the bull that men and women like to front themselves with.

    You give some valid points too Dr. Dato. But in the beginning, there are no emotions tied up. You can cut down on the hundreds of would be dates by asking some of these questions (plus a couple more). Especially those of us with young children.

    I disagree tho with your statement on working hard. True love and long term relationships are not work, the person you ultimately end up with should be your best friend, lover and each others support group. To me that is not hard work…it’s a shared pleasure that i look forward to.

They will claim to be from New York or some other state, but their English is more atrocious than the normal average poor English that we see from the typical American. It is very easy to trip them up if they claim to be from your city. Just ask them how far they are from a local landmark, but make up a fictitious landmark that does not exist. They will usually tell you that they are only a few miles from that fictitious place. The other clue is when they write to tell you that they had to go visit Ghana to help a family member and now they need money to come back to the States because they have fallen madly in love with you!     Um, correct me if I am wrong, but I though Ghana and Nigeria are in Western Africa. Nevertheless, looks like this Internet scamming is outta control. Sadly, conning and scamming is a major problem everywhere and in different settings.

    There are many sites in which I see the same person in several different profiles. It makes you doubt whether the members are even real people. Unfortunately, I saw some of that on this site.

    I think it bad that so many websites are like this. Why do people have to be so phony? Why can’t they just be themselves? It would make it so much easier to find someone you are interested in getting to know.
