How to improve your chances of finding that perfect partner

We all like to be found (by our would-be partner) but the truth of the matter is that we need to follow our instincts and make ourselves active when looking for our lifelong partner. There are many places that you can go to find your ideal partner, but basically it boils down to creating opportunities for yourself to meet other people in social gatherings, clubs, meetings etc. Here are a few guidelines..

Open up opportunities
It’s always comfortable to go to social events that you like. You don’t have to go to night clubs if that’s not your scene, there are many other places where people get together, for example, dance studios, hobby events, weddings, house parties etc. Find out what your interests are and then decide to go to them on a regular basis. By going regularly you are presenting yourself to people that they know you and can trust you. You shouldn’t restrict your conversations or meetings just to the opposite sex, be open and meet people of all backgrounds. You may be surprised by the opportunities that open up to you when you talk to like-minded people. For example they may invite you to their house for a barbecue and you meet the ‘love of your dreams’ there. Just keep your mind open to any opportunities that come your way.

Be yourself
When you meet other people, simply be yourself and you will feel comfortable talking to other people. This presents a likeable and pleasing personality (with nothing to hide) and which people are drawn to and will most certainly help you build a great social network.

Breaking the ice
Ok, so you have been to the social events and you have singled out some attractive partners that you would like to date. What do you do? Again, the best approach for this is to ‘make small talk’ so the act of asking someone for a date doesn’t seem awkward. You can always say during your conversation ‘I enjoyed our talk very much, would you like to have coffee with me sometimes’. This appears much more friendly and has a higher chance of getting a favorable response.

Increase your opportunities
Expand your opportunities by having your profiles set-up on other websites and always include a photo with your profiles. There are many free dating sites available today and you don’t have to pay a penny, just a few minutes of your time. Don’t be afraid to try out new innovative ways to expand your reach and help you find your ideal mate!

    I’ve spent a while looking into internet dating. For some reason, the whole thing just seems like what the NEW generation is doing, not what my generation is into!     I do agree that women should be paid the same salary for the same job, but at the same time a five foot, ninety pound woman firefighter is just insane. That is what we have come to. Lawsuits to put unqualified people into jobs that they have no business doing. Don’t misunderstand me, I have no problem at all with a six foot, two hundred pound woman that can carry a ladder and do the same job as a man firefighter.     I will not lie to you. When it comes to dating, looks and wgheit are very important. You can have all the self esteem in the world, but if the guy/girl you like isn’t attracted to your looks/ body type, it won’t make one bit of difference. We humans are funny that way. We are attracted to what we are attracted to, and there isn’t much we can do about it. Getting back to your original question though, I believe the reason people say, Have more confidence. is because someone who is secure and confident usually doesn’t ask questions about wgheit or height. I think people just assume that you are insecure, because you have ask the questions. Assumptions are never a good thing, though. Good luck on reaching your target wgheit. For some people it can be a constant and uphill battle, that is very frustrating.

    “Two states of human evolution”? Um, what? I love a good discussion about evolution, especially with people that don’t believe it is happening. It is so easy to shoot those people down, but this article uses evolution as a tag, and then, other than a mention in the first paragraph, there is nothing here about evolution. Even the mention in the first paragraph could be read as the two states are “mentally and physically” or it could be read as you have to map evolution both mentally and physically. Either way, it makes no sense whatsoever.

    I have a very hard time dumping people. I tend to slowly reduce contact with the person until they lose interest, find someone else and then dump me. I just feel that it is better if they dump me. There is a lot less stress when the breakup is their idea.

    it is pretty bad, but he does have a point. if the relationship is so bad that they are cheating, and not working on it, then they should get out. the sooner, the better. it’s more damaging to the other person to be unwittingly stuck in a one sided relationship. if the other partner is not willing to work on it, they are better off getting out and moving on.

    Marriage is making a statement. People designed to be paired - no one by design meant to be alone. This “I don’t need to be married” yet you engage in married activities is pure crap - there is a day of reckoning and your life will be severely tainted by your activities.

    Bottom line: marriage is the exhuberent celebration of not being single — masked by saying I’m in love, or I found my soulmate, or God brought us together ( which hopefully is true PROV 19:14 ), or ….

    Everyone is free to choose whether to pursue marriage or not. God did not call anyone, even Paul, to be single except for two and two only: Jeremiah & Elijah. God was very detailed and specific in the calling and why and what the assignment was.

    I vote for marriage even though divorced - I am preparing myself and eagerly look forward to my nnext marriage, which I enter into for remainder of my life or hers, whichever comes first.

    I practice a religion also and biblical times never ever did dictate that a man could only have one wife, but that he care and love them equally and her children. I am searching for a woman or couple to add to my relationship because I feel that he can handle it and I love him. I feel like these days are not different, in that marriage is about an agreement to fill certain roles in a relationship and to be responsible for each other and try to be happy together. I think that laws on marriage are changing and will continue to change.

    While I dont completely agree or disagree with it, smart phones just like most things can be a relationship killer. What most dont take into account is that moderation of anything, be it texting, sleeping, drinking, even work is the key to a stable and healthy relationship. without moderation one will spend to much time and effort aty one or more activies and his / her partner will quickly loose interest.

Some societies put great emphasis on a girl’s marrying as soon as she is of marriageable age if a woman nears thirty and is still single, she becomes the object of great concern to her family. Because family honor is involved, a father may try to marry off his daughters as young as possible.
    Nevertheless, I would urge people to wait until they are “past the bloom of youth” before marrying. So, what if you feel your friends or parents are putting undue pressure on you to marry. Perhaps expressing yourself in a similarly firm way would bring results, especially if your parents are still together.

Every single one of us has had our heart broken at least once, many of us (myself included) have had it broken multiple times, and to use these excuses as a reason to “be a player” or break other people’s hearts is not the sign of someone who can think clearly. Indeed, it is a sign of complete selfishness and lack of control.

    It amazes me how many of the comments on this subject were (I don’t know) or (No Idea). Whereas these comments are the true answer, they do show us an important fact. Love not only can’t be defined, it can’t even be analyzed. The world of science in all its electronic majesty can’t give us a decent definition of what love is or what causes it. If you ask a woman why she is with someone, most of the time the answer will be (I don’t know, but I love him). Personally I believe love lives on a soul level and not a level of reality we understand. This is why once it dies or is gone we can’t recreate it. The only way we can enjoy love is to accept that we have the ability to love anyone, no matter their age, race, sex or color. Yes I said it love can exist in a gay or lesbian relationship and although I for one genuinely enjoy the act of direct contact with the opposite sex, some don’t. So finally to my point, love is an emotional reaction to a chemical attraction. We can’t start it or stop it or change it. Relationships require work and commitment, love on the other hand requires letting go of your logic and accepting what it has to offer.

    As I said earlier this is my opinion, I have not spent millions studding the effects of love, but if you open your heart and you’re mind you will see there is some logic in what I say.

    The question arises to me is “Where is the Father?” In alot of states couples are given joint custody where the parents have the children alternate weekends. Such was the case with me seeing my daughter- Every other weekend she would be with me. Which left two weekends a month to have some sort of social life. It is not healthy for an adult to be cut off from social interaction with other adults. Being single again at 60, I struggle with having a social life when woman hestiant to give dating another chance.
