Old Fashioned Romantic..

Let me begin by stating that my life is awesome, and I am enjoying every precious moment of it! I am completely happy and content on my own terms, and do not require a relationship to feel good about who I am. However, finding a special lady to share my grand adventure with would certainly be the proverbial icing on the cake. Perhaps it would add a sense of completeness to my life. Perhaps it would be wise to state what I am not, and then you will get a better picture of me with what is left. Firstly, I am not a liar or a cheat. My saying this does not make it so, but I do believe in personal integrity, and I do not indulge in any behavior which may compromise that. In my personal case, what you see is what you get. I am what I am, and I am comfortable in my own skin. Secondly, I am not, nor do I make any pretense about being tall, dark, or handsome. Truth be told, I am not a very tall man, and my looks are merely average at best. Thirdly, I am not rich, and probably will not be anytime soon. However, I do pay my own way in life, and take pride in my work. What are some qualities I do possess? For starters I am very intelligent. Not merely head smart, but spiritually and emotionally smart as well. I value intelligent conversation, yet I also have an intense sense of humor. I love to laugh, and do so often. Along with intelligence and a sense of humor I also have some hard earned maturity. I am a veteran who served many years in life's trenches, and was fortunate to be able to learn from my mistakes. I am now well versed in what not to say or do, and am no longer afraid to show my true feelings. The greatest gift I have gleaned from my life is the gift of True Romance. Not the generic kind you see in some movies, or even the preconceived ideas about romance we all have. No, I am referring to the kind of romance that stands the test of time, the life blood of any strong relationship. From simple acts of kindness, or an unexpected kiss, or simply being there when your Soulmate needs a shoulder to cry on. These are but a few examples of True Romance. True Romance is indeed the glue which binds any strong and healthy relationship together. I was very fortunate to be raised in a home where such romance was practiced on a daily basis by my Mom and Dad. Their loving example, along with their unwavering commitment to one another was an inspiration to us kids, and to all who had the privilege to witness it. So if asked what I was seeking to find in a relationship, I would without hesitation respond with a resounding "True Romance!" Of course to build such a foundation the lady I seek would have to possess some qualities that would compliment my own. Honesty of course is a prerequisite, along with a sense of humor. I am immensely attracted to a lady with a kind heart. Someone who is as sensitive as I am, and and who is not ashamed to show it when the need arises. Of course a strong woman with a sense of her own Individuality is a glorious thing as well! If you happen to be a lady who feels offended by the idea of True Romance, or feels such things are demeaning to you, then please do not waste either of our time by contacting me. I still believe in holding the door for a lady, and do not hesitate to say the respectful word ma'am when the situation calls for such manners. My personal interests are many, but my passion is Writing, and that is what I spend most of my time doing. I am fortunate to be able to get paid for doing what I adore. My taste in music is varied as well. I generally listen to all genres of music, from Elvis Presley to modern rock. As far as I am concerned, if a song is good, and it touches me emotionally, then it is a good song, regardless of genre. I love to read as well, and have a vast collection of books. Watching movies is also a favorite past-time, and I apply the same rule to movies as I do to music. If it is good, I will enjoy it. My ultimate goal is to perhaps write a novel, or a story about my parent's eventful and inspiring life. Who knows what the futures holds, the possibilities are truly endless. So there you have it, I have laid my Soul bare for all to see on here.
