My self-summary

%u201CDid you ever read about a frog who dreamed of being a king and then became one? Well except for the names and a few other changes if you talk about me, the story's the same one.%u201D When it comes down to it, I think I've been pretty blessed (or lucky, take your pick). I've got an incredible family and wonderful friends who support me and stand by me no matter what. With a bit of effort and a lot of serendipity, I've been fairly successful in the educational and career arenas as well. I've managed to find a job that I love, buy a house of my own, put plenty of stamps in my passport and some really good beer in my fridge. If this isn%u2019t the good life, then I don%u2019t know what is. But that being said, I'd really like someone to share it all with (especially the beer, it's taking over my fridge; I think it might be reproducing.) Who I am is somewhat like an onion or an ogre (gratuitous movie reference), with a lot of different layers. I'm a political nerd/policy wonk who gets pissed off at partisanship and political gamesmanship. I%u2019m a progressive Christian who doesn't see any reason to judge other people's religious or lifestyle choices. I'm a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, who likes to get dressed up and go out somewhere nice. I'm driven when trying to achieve a goal, but in general I'm pretty relaxed and don't get frazzled by much. I've got a very "DC" job, but deep down I'm still a small town girl. And now for a disclaimer: If your "type" tends towards angry, bitchy, controlling, manipulative, overbearing, or crazy sorts of women it probably won't work out between us; I'm more the genuine, what you see is what you get, down to earth, no drama type.
