Eharmony’s personality dimension analysis - fact or fiction? - Dr Dato’s Brief
Tuesday, June 7th, 2011
The founder of the dating website, Eharmony Dr Neil Clark Warren advocates strongly the personality dimensional analysis that matches couple together on Eharmony and has proven to be a system that works.
I honestly think that Dr. Neil Warren does not believe that himself and particularly having worked 35 years as a clinical psychologist and marriage counselor (source Wiki).
Here are my arguments…
One of the most inspiring and thought provoking books I have read is ‘The Road Less Traveled’ by M. Scott Peck, M.D.
Scott spent his entire lifetime in his field of psychiatry and has always been amazed at the heart of people’s mind, thoughts and actions which he agrees is intangible in many ways and to categorize them only makes their conditions worse. He provides real examples where the factual evidence of science alone cannot explain some of the many improvements he witnesses in the human psyche.
This clearly shows the nature of the human being is far more complex than the one Dr. Neil Warren preaches. Personally, I think its a complete marketing ploy. One has to ask themselves has any of their previous relationships been based on a set of rules or been far more complex which required the adaptation of the two individuals working towards the betterment of the relationship at every level.
