Search feature of the site was quick and easy and I gave it a thumbs up. Searching for your date is conducted by filtering some details such as age criteria, gender, location, ethnicity, marriage, goals, height, body, hairs, looking, interest, hobbies, educations, career, lifestyle, relationships, characteristics etc.

You can also save your search for future use.

However, you will be disappointed with the advanced search because it is very difficult to find good matches with so many filtering options, because this type of activities and characteristics are far inbetween for most members. Most of the time, I got a message saying ‘match not found’.

This site also has a Google search date to find additional members and you can also search members or date by entering exact userid if you have this already.
However, upon using the service, I did not find it useful at all since it did not return any matches.

Messaging

You can send messages to any member but each time you need to enter your login email and password with a website generated verification code. This verification code is 30 digits long  and to send email to someone takes too much time.

You can see messages in your inbox sent by other members and the sent mail in to sent mail box section.
Features like IM, winks are not available on this website.

This web site also generates a unique profile link url of your profile page so you can give this to your friends or date so they can find you easily.

You can also invite any number of friends by entering their emails separated by commas. You can also report any bugs and issues to the socialgrid.com website.

What’s Missing
Like most of the other dating sites this website also lack audio and videos uploading and chatting features so some users maybe dissuaded from joining this site.

Unlike some websites this site does not features community sections such as dating tips, forum, blogs etc.

Member Base
Socialgrid.com has a good member and most of them from US, UK, Canada with age group between 20’s to 40’s however some of the profiles that I have gone though does not show much details about him or her. This gives the impression that people on the site may not be serious daters.

Longetivity

My experience with this site is not very good though it will shows lots of good matched singles, related to my personality and profile but lacking in detailed information. Each time you need to enter your login ID, password and verification code to send an email.

Ranking Statistics
Even though the site claims a member base of 75000+ but whenever I logged in I found that members remain static. In the past 1 year the website has lost some traffic and the number of new registered users are 7500+ which is 33% less that which it was in 2009. Website shows a Google ranking of 136,683.

Conclusion

The SocialGrid website has a quick registration process however the look and feel of the site is not eye catching. A majority of the website is covered by Google advertisements.

Messaging feature is the key factor of any online dating site, this web site do not have best of messaging feature. You can only send email for that also you need to type 30 digit verification codes.

This site does not have any audio/video uploading and chatting feature such as gifts, winks and instant messages to other members so most of the members will not be attracted by this dating site.

Searching again is not that good since it does not return good matches.
Even if you are new to online dating and serious about dating, you may want to turn the other way.
