Most Searched Dating Sites of 2012 on Google

Keeping the tradition going Google released their data of what the world searched, especially more comprehensive data on what USA singles searched online. Collected from different sources, Google search has fired a whooping 1.2 trillion searches in 146 different languages from Jan 2012 to Dec 2012.
The passion for free dating sites continue amongst US singles as Plentyoffish (POF) has again topped the list of being the most searched dating site followed by Match and OKCupid. eHarmony, which has been loosing market share in US is on the 4th spot amongst the most search dating site.
Christian Mingle and JDate are also amongst the top 10 which show that niche dating sites are also hot favorites of American singles. AdultFriendFinder is on the 8th spot that indicates that there are single or people who are in relationship looking for fun outside of their relationship and obviously don’t want to get caught.

We have all more or less taken for granted the top subscriptions dating sites such as Match.com and Eharmony.com as it towers over all other paid dating sites. Their formidable positions only increases with time as they re-inject capital back into aggressive marketing strategies. You will probably have seen many of the TV advertisements coming from these two top dating sites. However, there are some websites that will always be a thorn in the side for the top dating sites and they come in the shape of free dating websites.
Free Dating Websites Can Be a Thorn in the Side for Match and eHarmony
Free dating websites can be considered a mixed bag for the top dating sites since they are effectively competing for the same user. Their presence was felt when OkCupid, another free dating site that came up rapidly in the ranks to command a top 200 position of the most visited sites in the US. Match.com spent no time in acquiring OkCupid in early 2011 for a princely sum of $50 million dollars. Here is the news snippet from techcrunch.com.

We can argue whether the acquisition by Match was in part to dampen the market for free dating websites or whether there were genuine reasons to translate the profiles to their paid system. Whatever the reason, the free dating websites continue to grow in strength and this is confirmed by the many online singles joining these sites on a daily basis. Only time will tell how these two behemoths will share this vast marketing space for online singles. What we do know is that this market is continuing to grow at an unprecedented rate fueled by the numerous internet devices such as smartphones, tablets finding their way into the hands of many.

Logging & Customizing Profiles
After you login to this site for the first time, you need to answer some of the basic questions (similar to other free dating sites). The questions were very interesting and were unique and not common to previously reviewed sites.
Unlike a few other dating sites I have reviewed before, you are not able to customize your profile page with a different color combination and theme.
Photo Profile Section
Uploading your photo on the site comes with a neat option - you can upload from any site just by giving the address of that photo. I did this for one photo from Facebook.com but you have the option of uploading from your computer too.
Photo is easy uploaded and viewed right away with no need for approval from the webmaster or administrator of the website. However, the rule for uploading nudity still applies like all the other free dating sites. You are likely to be disbarred for uploading nudity.

Browse & Search Feature
Browsing through diffident menus and searching for profiles is intuitive and easy. I like the peppy and aero look of the search buttons and it is very easy use.
This site has the most impressive profile search result I have seen to date. It actually shows you how much you’re matched with the searched person. The results also show you how much they are replying to messages which is often or rarely. This can be a very useful feature for members who don’t want to waste time in messaging people who are inactive, which can be a problem in some dating sites.
You can read about the person’s trait, see photos, and see the personality test.
Well the feature compares the your matched persons personality based on the question that you answered while creating profile like- social, political and life style Other features like rating profile and picture are looks in tact.
Messaging
Messaging is again a feature of this site and all features like IM, email, quick message, saving notes, adding to favorite lost, sending winks need no improvement.
I loved the feature that I can award that person if I like that profile/match
