Not another one you say, yep.. it’s another dating site in this PR release that has been launched for the Baltimore/DC area. Business must surely be going well for the online dating industry judging by the number of dating sites that are coming into this market along with spectacular yearly profits reported by Match.
There is no escaping that online dating does really work and it’s providing a growing number of people who have lost the stigma of finding dates online a long time ago and they are now perfectly content to be socializing on Facebook, Twittering to friends and so why not online dating!
The concept behind HowAboutWe is interesting as it sort of borders between a website that focuses on specific interest groups but yet gives you autonomy like many of the other online dating sites. Basically users submit ideas for good dating ideas such as “How about we…grab turkish cuisine, try hookah, watch belly dancing…” and the user will receive proposals of such activities from others in their inbox who share similar interests. If any of the ideas seems good, the user can then check out their profiles and get to know them.

The is another press release of a dating site that caters to an ethnic group and is similar to the recent trend in the growth of dating sites that are popping up with speciality themes.
We haven’t done a review of this website, but you can guess that we will be taking a close look at this one along with other similar websites that cater to the black population. I would be curious to see how this family of sites including the ones geared to religion does well in their niche market.
From first glance and the information available on the post, it doesn’t appear to offer anything exceptional from other dating sites except that it claims to have one of the largest online dating tips section. They appear to cater to a range of relationship types including friendship and marriage. In their words, “you can enjoy our great services totally free:”

This is a PR of a new site called Earthrumble.com, what will they think of next?
Usually press releases of dating sites are laced with so much positivity that one has to be careful as to what to believe. This site hasn’t been reviewed by us yet, but you can guess we will be doing so very soon.
To summarize, this site looks to be UK based since subscriptions are given in pound sterlings and costs about 7 pounds per month (sorry couldn’t locate the pound key on my US keyboard) which is relatively cheaper than other dating websites. The site promises to be free from advertising and is geared towards people with different lifestyles and caters to singles with interest in music according to Wayne Peevor who is the CEO of Earthrumble.com

I found this article through the Google Dating Alerts I receive in my email inbox almost every day. So far a number of these postings can be passed off as not readable or not having any worthy content. However, some posters are very clever in promoting other dating sites through articles such as this.
Unknown to the reader, this article makes out that Asda, which is a famous supermarket like Safeway here in USA have officially launched a dating site called AsdaDating.com. This struck me as rather interesting and curiosity got the better of me, since my specialty includes researching in the online dating scene. By the way Asda is owned by the meg retailer Wal-Mart.
The subject of the article is interesting as it talks about how someone’s shopping basket can be compared with someone else and a relationship compatibility match can be extracted from this information. It has several people writing in and sharing their notes on this subject. Unfortunately, on further investigation there is no such site called AsdaDating.com and in fact the link takes you to UKDating.com which is a pretty generic dating site in UK.
One will come across marketing techniques such as this to drive traffic to the dating site but I am surprised that a creditable paper such as the Guardian.co.uk did not check it’s own story out for accuracy or maybe they are in the marketing scheme themselves?
