Online singles find it very easy to find their matches on free dating sites and create profiles what other online singles are looking for in their soul mate. But, this is not the correct approach as you are not showing what you have but what others looking. This is a good point to debate and we will talk about this on some other day.
Science of Relationship and it’s research wing has done research on 200 newly wed couples and 100 heterosexual online singles looking for a soul mate on free dating sites. They have been given pre-defined set of 20 traits that online single write in their dating profiles or look for these traits in their future soul mates.
There are quite a few similarities in what both male and female participants have said with some changes in their priorities on the list. For example, both genders want qualities like reliable, warm, intelligent and fair in their top five. This is interesting finding from the survey from male participants as they want their future wife to be practical whereas female participant did not mention this trait at all. Friday, April 13th, 2012
Have you wondered why singles breakup without any convincing reasons and keep browsing dating profiles on free dating websites to find their perfect match. Benjamin Le – Associate Professor of Psychology Research has explained in “The Science of Relationships: Answers to Your Questions about Dating, Marriage and Family” - The book about science of relationship.
Dr. Benjamin Le has said that the qualities they see and behaviors they observe in their parents is one of the big factors. For example, if the parents were not consistent and nurturing towards the child, the child will have expectations that his/he parents can not be relied upon.
Benjamin Le also added that what makes people attractive to others frequently come down to exposure, which is good for those who often log on to free dating websites. At first you might see profiles that aren’t attractive, but the more you see them the more you feel that they are not so bad which is human psychology. There are sites like Badoo.com and Yangutu.com who ask online single to feature their pictures on top part of their sites and as a result make lots of money.
On a serious note the book emphasis the complexity behind the idea of dating someone who is similar to a parent and cites the frequent study of the type of attachment a parent makes to their child as a determining factor in their outcome of their romantic preferences.

Dr. Dato’s Brief:
If you start by saying how the online industry has changed people’s lives ie. paying bills online, checking your bank accounts etc. then you won’t be surprised to learn that life has gotten easier for online daters too! This comes in the shape of ‘profile creation” which are being offered by a number of different sites.
We all know how hard it can be to create that ‘perfect’ profile on all these online dating sites, so some creative thinkers got thinking and started their online services where they create your profile for a small fee. They will produce a 500 word profile with all the proper grammar and screened for spelling errors. Although, the idea seems very novel, I can’t imagine that many people using this kind of service.
At the end of the day, you are essentially answering questions that are also posed in the dating sites that you are trying to join, plus you have to break down the 500 word essay to fit the site of your choice. A better idea for these sites would be to create profiles according to the dating sites that you intend to join. For example, having a ‘profile-ready’ answers to some of the dating sites such as match.com, plentyoffish.com, jumpdates.com and so on. Maybe I should patent this idea, who knows?
