<<< The language of love - Body language and it’s potent power - part 14
Again the social environment you are in is more reflective of this.
For example, if you are in a public bar, the smile can be construed as an interest because most women in that kind of venue will not go about smiling at every man, otherwise she may end up with a trail of men behind her.
Unless she likes that kind of attention, it isn’t normal in every day life.
In a house party where their maybe a common associate or friend, people especially women are more likely to drop their guards since it is considered a more ‘safer’ environment.
To be certain that there is genuine interest from the onlooker, you may just simply walk up to the individual and try your luck. But the point is, why bother if you can actually filter out those who are showing genuine interest in you.

Besides you only have a limited time on your hands and the approach you want to take has to be effective in opening up as many potential prospects.
Also, there will be lesser chance of you getting turned down using the body language approach and you don’t want to feel defeated too early in the night.
The trick is to read the ‘hidden’ signals that are conveyed to you from afar and this entails watching subtle movements of the body, face, legs etc.
As mentioned earlier, a ‘look’ can tell you right away if that person is interested in you and other times you need to read much more.

Someone once told me that it doesn’t take body language to be in the know-how if someone likes you or not.
There is partial truth in this, if you are already familiar with your experience of following your gut feelings and instinct that you have learnt over many years.
However, that experience has come about through careful observation of signs emanating from the individual in all forms which include voice, expression, body movements and gestures.
Hence like all things, it can be learnt and then it will become highly intuitive over time and you may be doing it without even thinking.

Part of the problem why some men are not as good as they can be, is compounded by having false expectations and negative views of the outcome.
The mind is such a powerful and potent force, that it can drive us to suicide, lead us to complete bliss, happiness, depression, joy and many other emotional manifestations.
We look forward with great anticipation and excitement when we ‘think’ about something good that we like to do before even doing it.
Whenever we want to do something, we will conjure it up in our heads and may even go through the whole process step by step.
This then translates into doing the activity with relative ease providing we don’t put any negative thoughts to block this process.

The same applies here, if we were to go with the apprehension that our outcome will end up in failure, in most likelihood the inevitable outcome will be negative.
So the first step towards achieving good results rest with the conditioning of our mind to think positive.
This is the reason why there are so many books written about positive thinking, because it actually works.
Positive thinking just doesn’t end with developing your mind to just think positive, you need to be able to deal with a ‘negative’ event in a ‘positive’ way.
This means that you do not want to feel defeated at the first sign of lack of progress but to think positively about the experience learnt.
