Dr. Dato’s Brief:
Oddly enough, I was signing into Plentyoffish.com website only the other day and my password wouldn’t work, so thinking nothing of it, I had a new password sent to me through the ubiquitous ‘Forgot Password’ link.
Unfortunately, this is a problem that most big sites and not just dating sites have to contend with. You can put all the security measures in place but hackers will eventually find a backdoor to your site and this puts not just the company but the private data of users in jeopardy.
The only cure is to do as much preventive work as possible and monitor the activities of the site and in particular the activities related to maintaining the site which usually is done through a backend online system.
