(d) When in the company of others
When you are in a group having a conversation, you can well liked by the people in the group without even trying.
That is to listen (point 6) and understanding what the group is talking about.
Don’t worry too much about having to say things in the group, the most important thing is too feel comfortable and just follow the conversation.
Everyone likes a good listener because a many people like to talk about themselves, their accomplishments, what they did or about their interests.
All it takes is an opening line such as ‘How was your day”, “What did you get up to today”, “Did you read anything interesting lately”.
Better still, if you know the person to be engaged in some activity or interested in a particular area, ask them questions on those topics.
