The Low Down on Mingle2.com - Free Dating Platform Review - Part 3
Finally, I ended up on the actual members page, the holy grail of the online dating stage where everything happens. In my inbox, there were two unread messages and one of them was as expected and was a note offering me to upgrade my account for a price, of course. The other mail, which was a more useful one went into great details about how to get the most out of this site. The premium upgrade option page made it very clear that they were a free dating site and would never charge you without your consent, which was good to know. Their upgrades were for 3, 6 and 12 months and depending on which plan you take you could save a few dollars here and there. On average their monthly comes to about $8.
The problem I feel that upgrade options have in free dating sites is how to convince the users that they need to upgrade since the features to find their mates are already free. So how do you go about convincing users that their hard earned money will pay off in the form of more dates, more contacts and more fun! It’s a tall order but I think its possible, otherwise mingle2.com or pof.com would not be doing it still.
