(e) Don’t underestimate or overestimate other people
We would all like to think that we have a pretty good idea of how we stand at work, at home and in our relationships with other people.
However, this is not always the case. By being empathetic to others (point 5), we can often derive a clearer assessment of the ‘real’ situation.
Case in point; A while ago I used to share a house with two other housemates.
One of the tenants had gone for a week break and when they got back, for some reason the person was behaving very oddly.
I asked about the holiday break and invited them to join me for dinner where I was turned down.
