The reference indicates that shyness primarily comes from the environment that people grow in and having been subjected to parental pressures, child abuse, emotional abuse and even ridicule.
Scientists have also made a connection with some genetic disorder but this has not been fully corroborated.
We can assume this disorder primarily stems from the environment that we have grown up in which includes the adults that we come into contact every day.
As this type of disorder happens naturally, we can also assume there are corrective ways to alleviate this disorder.
As we are growing up we understand more of the world around us and how we fit in and the many forms of shyness are dispelled over time as the human matures and develops.
